After the secret 'Shah Alam Chapter RBU's LSD' on Friday night, Ziff reminded me to keep some energy for the last two climbs at the Mizuno Run, which I think I did. Unfortunately, I was still kantoi at the last climb. I didn't stop to walk but was half dead climbing it. Only when I saw Mr Tey, the cameraman, I acted as if I was running, too look good in the pictures, lah of course. And I heard they changed the finishing route a bit so there was only 1 killer climb before the finishing instead of 2 like last year's race.
My target was to finish in 75 minutes. But after Diket ask me to do sub-60, I cut down my target to 70 minutes. Heheheh... I had to set a modest target as I wasn't familiar at all with the killer (or the 'Aiyo' hill) so, I don't want to underestimate the killingness of the 'Aiyo' hill lah, or the hill can curse me and kantoi-ed me.
Ladies started first at 7.15am, guys followed later at 7.25am. I was busy chatting with my friends from high school and didn't realize when the race was flagged off. There was no 'bang bang', but only 'port port' kan Yim? Then, suddenly my friends and I asking each other, "dah start ke?" and I looked at my watch, it's already 7.27am means dah start lah... I was at the back of the pack, so had to zig zagging front runners, along the narrow street in the first 4km or 5km.
Only after 6km or so, the road is wider and I have less runners to zig zagging around. The last 4km was kind of torturing to me as I keep on asking where's the hills, where's the hill. We were given the softer hill first, which is also quite a killer. Then, about 2km to go, the 'Aiyo' hill was there waiting. Thanks to the cameramen who positioned themselves along 'Aiyo' hill (sengaja nak catch the worst face expression) and the volunteers who cheered for the runners at the 'Aiyo' hill, they all kept me pushing for the final err.. push. :-)
Doing the last 200m on the rubber track inside the stadium, I was mentally calculating if I can do a sub-60. Sounds possible if I can run as fast as Usain Bolt and in the end, I crossed the line with a time of 1 hour 28 seconds (unofficial - hand-timed), just shy off sub-1hr. I'm still happy for the time and effort but it could be better, certainly.
Overall, it was a great run with nice, a mixture of downhill, uphill and flat route, lots of isotonic at the finishing line, Milo, cold watermelons, goodie bag that has Nivea facial wash (I like as it saves me from buying facial wash in the next 2 months!) and a nice medal (nice laa compared to some plasticky toys, kan?)
Saw fellow RBUs at the event - Yim (he was fast - only saw him at the starting and finishing point), Diket (super fast) and the future TNFer Ray in his unusual khaki bandana. That's why I couldn't spot him during the run as he normally wear red bandana. I also saw Deti, missJewelz but didn't have the chance to say hi. Also met some runners from office and my juniors in high school. Am happy that my circle of running friends is becoming bigger and bigger.

Will I do it again? YES!
p/s: Heard that a runner died during the race. May God bless his/her soul.

Anon (friend to the late Ir. Adnan Kassim),
Sad to hear the news. May Allah bless his soul and this tragedy sets a good reminder to everyone of us. May his passion (towards running) give us strength, too.
